Salty & Sweet Dessert ( Ta Ko Saa Koo )

Ingredients for Sweet Part
4 cups : Tapioca pearl
1 cup : Sugar
4 cups : Water
4 tablespoons : Corn Flour

Ingredient for Salty Topping
4 cups : Coconut Milk
4 tablespoons : Corn Flour
1 cup : Sugar
2 Teaspoon : Salt
Preparation for Sweet Part
1. Mix the water , sugar and tapioca pearl.Place on a medium heat.
2. Stir until the tapioca pearl is well mixed.
3. And keep stirring until the tapioca pearl is cooked - it will lose its whiteness and become more transparent.
4. Add the corn flour and stir to mix it in.
5. Spoon it into the base of the serving dishes and leave to cool.
Preparation for the Topping
1. Mix the sugar, corn flour and salt together.
2. Add the coconut milk and stir it until well mixed.
3. Put it on low heat and stir it until the flour is cooked.
4. Spoon it out on top of the sweet mixture and place in the fridge.

Note. Saa Koo =  Tapioca pearl in Thailand

Banana steamed Cake for vegetarian


1. 400 grams : Cake flour
2. 300 grams : Banana
3. 1/2 Tablespoon : Baking powder
4. 1/2 Tablespoon : Baking Soda
5. 1/2 Tablespoon : Salt
6. 200 grams : Sugar
7. 75 grams : Coconut sugar or Jaggery
8. 1 tablespoon : Lime juice
9. 200 grams : Coconut milk
10.150 grams : Soybean oil


1. Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda together.
2. Spin banana , coconut milk , sugar , coconut sugar and salt together.
3. Pour into a bowl and add the flour.
4. Add soybean oil into the mixture.
5. Stirring continuously until the solution becomes well mixed.
6. Add Lime juice and stir together.
7. Cover and leave for 30 minutes.
8. Pour mixture in a mold with baking paper inside(3/4).
9. Steamed about 12 - 15 minutes.
10.Then remove from the Steaming pot and remove pastry paper. 

Crispy Jelly (Thai Traditional Dessert)


1. 1 1/2 tablespoons : agar-agar powder 
2. 2 cup : water 
3. 2 cup : sugar 
4. 1 teaspoon : arrow root flour 
5. Coloring agent of your choice
6. Flavoring agent of your choice


1. In a saucepan, mix water and agar-agar powder together, then bring about to boil with a medium heat. Stirring continuously until the solution becomes clear.

2. Add sugar into the mixture, stir it until the sugar is all dissolved, then strain the mixture through a sieve. Bring the mixture to boil again.

3. Mix arrow root flour with 1 tablespoon  of water, then add into the mixture. Stir until the mixture become thicker, remove from the heat. 

4. Add flavoring agents and coloring agents. 

5. Pour the mixture into a mold and let it cool down.

6. Take them out from the mold and let the jellies exposed to the sunlight for 3-4 days or until the outer shell of jellies becomes hard.
